Rincon Christmas Parade Begins at Macomber Park

The Rincon Lion’s Club Christmas parade, featuring three bands and Santa Claus, is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23.

The 3rd Infantry Division Band from Fort Stewart will take part, as well as the bands from South Effingham and Effingham high schools, according to Danny Fries, chairman of the Christmas parade.

He said he expects about 6,000 people to attend the parade. It starts at Macomber Park, goes south on Lexington Avenue, west on 4th Street, south on Ga. 21, east on 9th Street and north on Lexington Avenue back to Macomber Park.

Santa will ride at the end of the parade.

During the parade, the seventh annual Dickens Craft festival will be held in the parking lot of First Baptist Church of Rincon, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Craft vendors must pay a $25 booth fee for two parking spaces, with proceeds going to mission work. Ribbons will be awarded for the best crafts. No flea market items will be accepted.
